At the crossroads of Europe, the Swiss Alps are stunning in scale, rich in tradition, and magical to experience. Switzerland and its neighboring regions - including France’s Haute Savoie, Italy’s Val d’Aosta, western Austria, and southern Germany - are the inspiration behind the dishes at the Matterhorn Restaurant and Bakery. Amidst the busy life of urban San Francisco, we aim to bring the friendliness, quality, adventure and charm of a mountain Stübli to the City.
Our passion is to share with you dishes and baked goods that are made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients and showcase the experience of Swiss on-mountain dining - all in a dining room “chalet” lovingly built years ago by a Swiss family from imported Swiss materials.
The Matterhorn has been a San Francisco institution, and we are proud to bring a fresh new chapter to its iconic story. It’s an honor to have you as our guest at the story’s center.
